Egypt is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and the favourite vacation spot for many people. What is interesting and magic about this place says Wiadomosci24, an Egyptian doctor of medicine-Mohamed Gharieb Ibrahem Elsawi.

There are a lot of photographs and facts about your country in the Internet. Many people spend their free time in Egypt. Egypt has a great history and a great ancient civilization that left lots of treasures, ancient monuments as well as a unique culture. Could you tell Wiadomosci24 about the most interesting places worth to visit? Which place give people the best impression?
- Well, Egypt is a big country with lots of cities, that are interesting for people from different parts in the world. The best thing in Egypt it that it there are both the historical cities with the ancient monuments and treasures left by the ancient Egyptian civilization and the beautiful resorts at the Egyptian coasts. Certainly the first city on the list is Cairo - the capital of Egypt, then Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, Sharm el-Shikh, Hurghada, Dahab, Taba and the other cities since those are the most famous cities for different countries. For sure if there is someone visiting Egypt for the first time, Cairo has to be one of the cities to visit.

What is special about Cairo? Can you tell Wiadomosci24 something interesting about this city, which Polish won’t read in the Internet, press or books? Maybe about the night in Cairo? What do you have that we haven’t?
- Cairo is the capital of Egypt since the Arab army came to Egypt and introduced the Arabic language and the Islamic religion till now and it was the ancient capital in the early pharaoh time. The major Cairo (the capital) is divided into two main parts: Giza city and Cairo city (the border between them is the Nile river). Cairo is one of the biggest capitals in Africa and the middle east. Its population is nearly about 20 million people. Every day there are nearly 3 million people visiting it for work or as a tourist from inside and outside Egypt.
Cairo is one of the cities that have the title of “the city that never sleeps”. All the time of the day there is activity. A lot of restaurants, cafes, clubs and supermarkets are working 24 hours. And at night there is more life than at the morning, especially in summer. Oriental cafes are a good place to spend a night, if you are visiting Cairo, where you can drink oriental drinks, and for sure the most famous “shesha” smoking (a water pipe that use in it a fruit flavored tobacco, in Lebanon and Syria the call it “nargela” in Egypt we call it “shesha”). There are a lot of restaurants that make oriental and traditional Egyptian food. And for those who like other types of dining-locations, you can find all the famous fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut. You can even find Chinese food, THI food, and other Arabian restaurants. So don’t worry if the Egyptian food wasn’t good for you, we have every type of restaurants in Cairo.

What are the famous and interesting places to visit in Cairo? What can you recommend Wiadomosci24?
- You have to visit the pyramids and sphinx in Giza, Skara pyramid in Cairo, the Egyptian Museum (the biggest museum in Egypt for pharaoh monuments), Salah Eldin Citadel and Mohamed Ali Mosque (inside Salah Eldin Citadel). Coptic monuments (the Christianity history in Egypt). And the famous Khan el-Khalili Bazaar in the old part in Cairo, where you can buy all the souvenirs and spend the night there in one of the oriental cafés. So if we say that you are going to visit Cairo for a two or three days, if you are in a tourist group, they will make your program. So if you are coming alone, you have to visit the pyramids and sphinx, and the Citadel and as well as the Egyptian Museum. And spend the night in oriental cafes and visit at one of the nights Khan el-Khalili to buy something that reminds you on your visit here. For those who visit Cairo alone, there are a lot of hotels that you can find by their numbers and addresses in guide books like (lonely planet and other guides). You can find small hostels and small hotels that can offer you a good prices for accommodation. And for those who like more levels, there are big hotels (at the highest world standard of luxury). However, for students I cannot recommend those big hotels as they are rather expensive.
In Cairo there are all ways of transportation like the subway, the tram, taxis and buses. For short distances and going to specific addresses I recommend to take a taxi. People in Cairo and Egypt in general are friendly, they like to help when they can. They have a very good sense of humor, they like music and singing and dancing. So whenever you will go you will find the people smiling no matter whether they had problems or not.

And the other places to visit? When Polish people are for the first time in Egypt they visit the pyramids in Cairo, the vaults in Luxor, and when they want to go diving they go to Giftun Iland and visit Hurghada. The other city to visit is Sharm el-Shikh. Can you tell Wiadomosci24 something about this places?
- Well, as I can see you know already other places like Hurghada which is one of the famous cities on the red sea but it is located outside Sinai. First I want to talk about other resorts. I have to tell you about Sharm el-Shikh. It is a city lying at the Red Sea at the South of Sinai. It is a big focus for tourist from all the parts of the world. It is full of resorts and hotels that have wonderful beaches along the Red Sea. What makes Sharm el-Shikh a special place is:
The weather: The weather of Sharm el-Shikh makes it suitable for being visited in all times of the year, especially in winter as the weather in winter is warm and sunny in the morning and a little bit cold at night. So in winter you can enjoy the beach and go swimming. In summer it is hot and sunny (so for people that want to visit it in summer, they must have good protection by sun block all the time as they would get a sun burn so easily without it).

The Sea: The Red Sea is a very beautiful sea, it is pure crystal clear water and it contains big amounts of corals and a big variety of colored fish and other sea creatures. Some of them live in the Red Sea. All this made the Red Sea one of the best places for diving and snorkeling in the world. Sharm el-Shikh has a beautiful site on the Red Sea and the nature of the sea there is really beautiful. There is a place near Sharm el-Shikh called Ras Mohamed, it is a National Park and it is considered to be one of the most beautiful and perfect places for diving and snorkeling. Furthermore there are lots of beaches for swimming and other water sports to enjoy your day at the beach.
The desert and the mountains: The nature of Sinai in general is beautiful and you can enjoy your time always there by going for safari trips to the desert, by quad bikes or to stay for an oriental dinner with a party in a tent in the desert, which is really beautiful.
Night: Well, you have a lot of choices for spending your night in Sharm el-Shikh. You can go as we said to a safari trip and spend your night in an oriental tent. Or you can stay in an oriental café which is there at every place. Or you can go to one of the discos and clubs there, where they make party till the early morning.
And what about the other resorts? Can you tell something about Dahab, Alexandria, Luxor and Aswan? There are very beautiful and amazing places – we can look at it by your photos...
- Well, Dahab is also in Sinai, but in the North of Sharm el-Shikh. It is similar to Sharm el-Shikh, but it has some differences as it is smaller, quiter, not that crowded with tourists, cheaper and it has less clubs and discos than Sharm el-Shikh. Additionally the nature there is very beautiful.
Alexandria is situated at the Mediterranean Sea Coast. It was the capital of Egypt for about 1000 years before Cairo became the capital (the capital of Egypt in the Greek and Roman age in Egypt). It is named by the name of Alexander the Great. It features Egypt’s main and biggest harbor since more than 2000 years. Alexandria is a beautiful place to visit, too. You can visit there the Greek Roman Museum, Quitbay Citadel, the Roman Theatre, Alexandria Library (which is built in the memory of the ancient Alexandria library which was destroyed by the Romans when they invaded Egypt) and Elmontazah Palace (which is on the sea). And if you intend to visit Alexandria, you have to try one of the sea food restaurants (for fish and other sea food) they have the best restaurants for sea food in Egypt.
Luxor was the capital of Egypt for the middle and new age of the pharaoh history. It is a city in the South of Egypt on the Nile river. It has lots of monuments from the ancient pharaoh civilization (1/2 the amount of monuments in Egypt and nearly 1/3 of the whole amount of the ancient monuments in the world are found in Luxor). There are lots of temples (Karnack temple which can be considered with all the surroundings the biggest temple in the world, and also Luxor temple near the Nile River, Hatshepsut). The Valley of the Kings and the Valley of Queens at the west bank of the Nile river which contain lots of big tombs for the kings and queens of the Egyptian pharaohs.
Also Luxor has lots of bazaars and oriental cafes and restaurants. The best time to visit Luxor is in winter when the weather is warm and nice, but in summer it is so hot. And for those that visit it in summer: be careful with the sun and stick to the visits scheduling for the temples and other sites in Luxor.
And Aswan.. Aswan is in the South of Luxor. It is one of the ancient cities in the pharaoh history, too. It has many temples (like the famous Abu Simbel Temple). And the most special thing about Aswan is the Nile river, where the rivers are is not influenced by the civilization. The Nile river is so pure that in the South of Aswan you can drink directly form the Nile. So one of the beautiful things you can do there is to take a boat trip on the Nile and enjoy the beauty of the nature there.

Thank you so much for many interesting and amazing facts and pictures about your country – Egypt. I hope once everyone will see these places for a real delighting time.
